Protect furniture/electronics/ with painters plastic
Protect flower beds with canvas tarps, glass, stucco, etc.
Removal of existing window unit.
Remove existing bucks and necessary stucco
Clean down to substrate, expose necessary substrate for work
Apply concrete block sealant, to all substrate exposed, for additional layer of water intrusion protection
Install proper buck as per manufacturers spec and Florida Building 5th edition
Seal under new bucks with sika-flex type poly-urethane sealant
Maximum shim space .025
Apply sealant to body of window, outer buck face, inner flange of window unit
Set window in sealant into opening, shim as needed
Drill substrate and install ?”X 3 ?”(if solid filled CBS, 2 ?’ if hollow) 410 crete-flex stainless tapcon fasteners, minimum substrate penetration is 1.25”
Stucco outside, drywall inside
Apply sealant to inside and outside of unit
Apply Loxon primer to new stucco, apply body paint supplied by owner
Apply drywall primer inside & paint to match as supplied by owner.
Remove protective barriers inside and outside
Clean work area Installation will meet or exceed Florida Building Code 5th Edition & manufacturer installation specs.
Note: Drywall dust will be blown through unit from outside, no way to completely prevent this from occurring. We will clean every day and clean our mess as we move forward. Mother Nature has her own way of spreading the mess.
